Communication has shaped the world we live in. Communication allowed for cultures to evolve into great empires and the millions of people living within to understand what their peers are saying whether their thoughts are conveyed by talking or physical expression. Communication is a never ending process that continues when the words stop and the interaction ends. In the modern United States communication rarely takes a break due to technology allowing for ongoing nonstop communication. Communication in simplest form is information transfer that occurs between the sender and the receiver (Lossee 1999). Communication is not only verbal but it is nonverbal as well. Body language such as facial expressions and hand movements help to convey meaning to the receiver as well as the passi on in which the sender is trying to show in the topic discussed. Communication between people can be analyzed so in depth that the very idea that is discussed between the receiver and sender can be picked apart for clues in how the participants in the conversation feel about the topic. The importance of communication has been proven to be paramount throughout time.
